Happy 4th of July!
Our country’s beginnings came about through the efforts of many leaders. They were all committed to a cause and able to engage others in their efforts. And many of them were vocal about the value of education. Here are a few quotes from our country’s founders that resonated with me.
Dee Anne Bonebright
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. — Benjamin Franklin
Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.
— Abigail Adams
Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty. — Thomas Jefferson
The best service that can be rendered to a Country, next to that of giving it liberty, is in diffusing the mental improvement equally essential to the preservation, and the enjoyment of the blessing. — James Madison
